What if my child is under 18?
If they are 14 to 17 and do not live with their family in Spain, they need legal guardianship: the school covers it if it has boarding and, if not, it is added as an extra and handled by a specialist provider. If they live in an ESS residence, which comes with the Full programme, a mentor lives alongside the students. At all three levels, their ESS Tutor talks to them almost every day and sends you a termly report on academic and sporting progress; for anything that cannot wait, there is a channel open 24 hours a day.
Do you help with the student visa?
Yes. You can handle it yourself or arrange it through ESS as an additional service: we work with a firm specialising in immigration, we coordinate the file and they handle the consular process. Consular fees are always paid by the family.
Can I choose the residence?
We assign it, and we do so on a clear basis: distance to the training centre and the student's age. A fifteen-year-old does not live where a twenty-one-year-old university student lives, and half an hour less commuting a day adds up to a hundred hours a year. That said, we work with several residences. If there is a specific reason to prefer another one, it is considered among the available options.
What academic qualification does the student get?
It depends on the route: a Spanish national qualification, International Baccalaureate, British curriculum, American High School Diploma or a university degree at one of the partner universities in Madrid. All of them are official qualifications awarded by the academic institution, not ESS certificates.
What exactly does the price include?
Each level has a starting price, per full academic year with taxes included. Sport only covers the sports programme and the ESS Tutor; Sport + education adds the school or university, and the Full programme also adds the residence — it is the only level that includes it —, with a starting price per centre. Extras can be added to any of them, each with its own amount: guardianship with visa, visa, health insurance, high performance, transfers and the search for alternative options. Flights, arrival and departure transfers, consular fees and personal sports equipment are always outside.
When does the course start and until when can I apply?
The main academic year starts in September, following the Spanish academic calendar. Some programmes also accept entry in January or February, and depending on availability some sports allow students to join at other points in the year. Admissions confirms the entry dates and the places left in each programme.
